Louis G. and Nellie E. Bauer Fund
Nellie and "Lou" were long-time residents of Seymour. While Lou and Nellie had no children, they wanted to insure that other children had the opportunity to pursue their education. Nellie Bauer established the fund under her Will.
Eligible recipients must be graduates from the Seymour Community School Corporation. The scholarship may be used for any college or university that provides at least a four-year education. The scholarship is renewable annually. The student must maintain a (C+) GPA or better. The scholarship may not be awarded for work on a master or advanced degree.
The amount of the scholarship shall be the average current cost of tuition of a full-time student working toward an undergraduate degree at Indiana University plus an amount of $500.00 for the cost of books, fees and other miscellaneous school costs. A student may attend any college or university of his or her choice, but the scholarship need not cover the full cost of tuition if the amount is more than the average cost at Indiana University.
